Ford has finally revealed the pricing details of the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500, its most powerful street-legal car ever. The performance car will set buyers back $73,995 (inclusive of $1,095 destination charges and $2,600 gas guzzler tax). The full option version may cost up to $100,000.

Yes, the price is a lot higher than the 2019 Camaro ZL1 (you can experience the thrill at Yas Marina Circuit), which starts from $64,195, however, considering the performance figures of the GT500, it might be right on the money.

Comparing the two performance cars, the Camaro ZLI carries a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 that produces 650 horsepower. Its competitor, the GT500, comes equipped with a supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 pumping out an eye-watering 760 horsepower and 625 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission exclusively. Sorry, there is no manual version.

Talking about its rival from Dodge, the Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye costs less with a price tag of $71,350. Comparing it with performance figures, the Redeye can generate even more power – 797 horsepower to be exact.

Ford did not reveal pricing details for different available packages. Nevertheless, we know the Carbon Fiber Track pack gives buyers 20-inch carbon-fiber wheels, instrument panel, and GT4 track wing. Opting the Technology Package, the cockpit gets more tech stuff. With the Handling Package, the car receives a Gurney flap and splitter wickers.

The 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 might not be as powerful as the Challenger Hellcat Redeye, but it comes with enough power and track features that make it a perfect car for an ultimate track experience.

It will go on sale this fall.
