The DBS Superleggera Volante is the Fastest Convertible Model By Aston Martin

Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Volante has been inroduced featuring characteristics of three iconic models. The fastest convertible model in the company’s history, it can hit 340 km/h top speed. The car has been built in-house under the supervision of Executive Vice President & Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman.

Talking about the flagship car, he said, “DBS Superleggera produces a spectacular and relentless level of performance and so for the Volante, we focussed on bringing that extra level of sensory overload that only an open-top Super GT can deliver inside the cabin.”

The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Volante carries a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 churning out 715BHP and 900Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a new ZF 8-speed automatic transmission installed at the back of the car. It can cover 100 km in just 3.6 seconds and hit 161 km/h speed in 6.7 seconds.

The automaker made a number of tweaks to increase the downforce and keep it closer to the coupe model. There are a number of dynamic driving modes each offering a unique sound. While GT mode offers rumbling sound, the notes of Sport and Sport Plus are more powerful.

The automaker also worked hard to offer an ideal roof and rear package. The roof takes 14 seconds to open and 16 seconds to close. It can also be operated from the remote key within a two-meter radius of the vehicle. Aston Martin tested this roof’s functionality 100,000 times across the Death Valley as well as the Arctic Circle.

The DBS Superleggera Volante starts at £247,500 (RRP inc Tax)*  in the UK, €295,500 (RRP in Tax)* in Germany and $329,100 (MSRP inc. Gas Guzzler Tax)* in the US. Customers will start receiving their cars from Q3 2019.
