Motorists going toward Sharjah from Ajman through Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road on Saturday night noticed a speed camera malfunction. They got upset as they found the camera flashing randomly when they were driving under the speed limit.

The cameras are set at 141 km/h on this road including 20km/h buffer. The drivers noticed the flashing when they were driving even below 120 km/h.

When Sharjah Police came to know about speed camera malfunction, they issued a statement stating that the drivers going within the speed limit will not be penalized.

There were also rumors that only motorists not wearing the seat belt or using their phones while driving were flashed. The Police denied all these reports and urge to only believe in stories published on the official channels.
