The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster stunned the crowd at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The open-top version of the Aventador SVJ coupe made its global debut with excellent performance, handling, and aerodynamic features.
“The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster inherits all the power, performance and ground-breaking aerodynamic technologies of the coupé, but with its own iconic presence and prowess,” says Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini, Stefano Domenicali. “It is as fundamentally exciting to drive as the Aventador SVJ but with an added exclusivity: the option of the open air. With the same extraordinary performance roof on or off, the Aventador SVJ Roadster incorporates the dynamism of the coupé with the unique spirit of a Lamborghini roadster.”
The SVJ stands for ‘Super Veloce Jota’, indicating the car’s performance and track competency. The coupé version has achieved the Nürburgring-Nordschleife production car lap-time record. So, expect the same from the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ roadster. The powerful V12 engine creates 770 horsepower (566 kW) at maximum 8,500 rpm and 720 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. With a weight-to-power ratio of 2.05 kg/hp, it can reach to 100 km/h in only 2.9 seconds. The 0 to 200 km/h acceleration time stands at 8.8 seconds. The top speed is limited to around 350 km/h. The roof of the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster is created from high-pressure RTM carbon fiber, weighing under 6 kg every part.
The automaker will only develop 800 units of Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster. We do not know yet when it will go into production. However, we believe it will be pricier than the 2018 Aventador Superveloce Roadster, which starts from AED 1,928,000.
