Kia has taken the wraps off the 2014 Kia Sportage.
Looking instantly recognizable, the facelifted model is distinguished by a revised grille and restyled fog lamps (on the EX variant). The crossover can also be equipped with optional HID headlights and LED taillights.
Interior changes are limited but the Sportage gains additional standard equipment including a tilt / telescopic steering column, reclining rear outboard seats and a rear seat ventilation system. The model can also be equipped with a Premium package that adds leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof and GPS navigation with SiriusXM Traffic. Last but not least, there’s an updated UVO infotainment system which can connect to the internet via a smartphone.
Under the hood, there’s a new 2.4-liter GDI four-cylinder engine that produces 182 bhp (135 kW) and 177 lb-ft (239 Nm) of torque – an increase of 6 bhp (4 kW) and 9 lb-ft (12 Nm). It is connected to a six-speed automatic transmission which enables the front-wheel drive model to return 21 mpg city / 30 mpg highway.
