W Motors, the only automotive developer in the Middle East and ICONIQ Motors have joined hands to produce Level 5 autonomous electric car, named ‘MUSE’, which will debut at the Auto Shanghai 2019 on 16th April. The self-driving car will hit the road before EXPO 2020 in Dubai.
W Motors showed the prototype of MUSE last week during a private gathering featuring cutting-edge technologies. The Level 5 autonomous electric car will be fully developed in the UAE in association with international associates AKKA Technologies, Magna Steyr and Microsoft USA.
W Motors Founder & CEO, Ralph R. Debbas stated, “The move from conventional vehicles to electric will happen much sooner than we expect, and we are honored to be part of this movement – as well as Dubai’s vision for the future of mobility. Autonomous vehicles will change the way we travel and connect with one another, and as a UAE-based company, it is an exciting achievement for us to be leading the way in the region’s development within this sector.”
This unveiling is in line with the Dubai Autonomous Transportation Strategy, which aims to change the transportation landscape in the region. The government looks to generate profits by minimizing transportation expenses, carbon emissions, and road collisions. This will, in turn, improve productivity and save time.
Unfortunately, the details about MUSE are scarce at the moment. We will update you as soon as we hear more about this innovative self-driving car.
