The Koenigsegg Agera successor was first revealed to selective, possible buyers at an Australian dealership opening event in June 2018. Within the same month, Koenigsegg also issued a vague teaser image of the Agera successor, which was later named ‘Ragnarok’ on McLarenlife forum, as it revealed the car’s specifications. However, Swedish newspaper Dagens Industri told us that Ragnarok is not the final name of the car. The name will be disclosed only at the Geneva International Motor Show 2019 in March.
The successor to the Agera, which is at present the fastest production car, will no doubt be an impressive car itself. According to the latest reports, only 125 units will be produced, out of which 72 units have already been accounted for at a price of over $2 million.
Talking about the powertrain, the Koenigsegg Agera successor allegedly delivers 1,440 horsepower through a twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 engine, has a 9,000 rpm redline, and weighs below 2,645 pounds. In contrast, Christian von Koenigsegg’s Agera is capable of supplying 1,360 horsepower and has a 7,500 rpm redline, even though it utilizes the same engine. The modified engine will power the car through forced induction and displacement, rather than going for the electrification route.
The successor is expected to beat the top speed record of Agera RS, which will not be a problem with more power on its disposal. For more details, wait for the Geneva Show.
