Priced at $19,990 with an additional $920 destination fee charged by Toyota, the Hatchback stands on the Toyota New Global Architecture platform, which supplies a typical front-driving structure with two struts to support the front of the Hatchback; the back of the vehicle is supported by a multilink independent suspension system. The car also features a new big, blunt grille design, along with sculpted headlights, LED tail-lights and a tail liftgate made of a polymer resin.
The 2019 Toyota Hatchback comes in two trim levels: the SE and the XSE. On the interior, the Hatchback SE version comes with standard comforts along with a low beltline, an expanded dashboard top featuring an 8-inch touchscreen display for the Entune infotainment system, flexible cruise control, and Apple CarPlay. The XSE version is also equipped with leather seats, heated front seats, adjustable LED headlights, a satellite radio, Blind Spot Warning and one digital gauge cluster. Wireless phone charger is optional on certain XSE models.
The new Toyota Hatchback houses a 2.0 liter, 4-cylinder Dynamic Force engine supplying 168 horsepower mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or an automatic CVT, which will cost you an additional $1,100.
In the safety department, Toyota has used Safety Sense 2.0 as standard in the hatchback making it safer on the road. The suite includes adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, Lane Trace Assist, and Road Sign Assist, which examines stop, yield, do not enter and speed limit signs.
