DHL partners with Al Naboodah Automobiles to launch the electric Volkswagen e-Golf as part of its logistics fleet. The e-Golf will be used for DHL’s deliveries and collections in the UAE. DHL is on a mission to introduce cleaner ways of conducting their logistics business. In this regard, they have not only adopted an electric car but also an environment-friendly cargo bike Cubicyle. DHL is aiming to achieve zero emissions by 2050.

The all-electric e-Golf is a small car which produces 134 horsepower using its 100 kW AC electric motor. It can be recharged using a basic power outlet with one charge lasting for 250 km. The car battery also recharges on the way using kinetic energy generated from braking. Furthermore, the vehicle has a specially designed cabin that separates the driver from the cargo.

This electric car will be used in traffic-dense areas like the Dubai International Finance Centre and Downtown Dubai. However, later on, DHL will expand its fleet to cover other regions of the country.

DHL partners with Al Naboodah Automobiles in hopes to further expand its “GoGreen” initiative by training its employees and adding more environmentally sustainable solutions to its operations slowly and gradually.

The Golf is available in three models here including Golf Hatchback Standard, Golf R and Golf GTI.
