AMG had recently an addition to the family in the form of a Roadster named AMG GT S Roadster. AMG has some exclusive and limited number of Mercedes vehicles under their name and this is the third roadster by the performance division. AMG has gone above and beyond with this project, they’ve upped the ante and left nothing untouched.

With a 4.0 liter V8 twin turbocharged engine, the roadster can generate up to 552 horsepower and a torque of 670 Nm. It does 0-100 in less than 4 seconds. The engine is designed a little differently with the twin chargers inside the V of the engine instead of out and is controlled by the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7G Sports transmission.

The AMG DYNAMIC SELECT controller allows drivers to customize the driving modes. There are five drive modes including “C” (Comfort), “S” (Sport), “S+” (Sport Plus), “RACE” and the personally programmable setup “I” (Individual). These modes change the driving behavior from comfortable to very sporty.

Much like any other AMG branded stead, this roadster comes with adjustable damping as a standard feature. The AMG Ride Control is an automatic system that helps to adjust the suspension at each individual wheel. So, the driver can adjust the comfort of the roadster on the go.

When it comes to the exterior of the AMG GT S Roadster, AMG has combined lightweight composite materials with aluminum to create a sturdy frame and body which further help with the sheer dexterity of the GT S.

Moving onto the interior, we see how the soft top roadster comes together. The dashboard is wide and makes the vehicle feel larger than what it seems. The door panels are concave with a center console that rides in just the right spot for the driver and passenger. The seats are faux leather which makes it more versatile to fit seamlessly in any shape or angle. There is a wide variety of color contrasts customers can choose for the interior ranging from marron/black, red pepper/black, silver pearl/black to all black.

The deliveries are expected by July in the UK, and while we have no word on pricing, we believe it will be around £124,700. We cannot confirm at the moment when will it hit the UAE roads. The 2018 AMG GT S is available for AED 570,685 in the UAE.
