In a move to change the status-quo, Saudi Police department has issued first women driving licenses on Monday. “The first group of women today received their Saudi driving licenses,” the official Saudi Press Agency said.

This move by the authorities has also initiated the process of swapping the international driving licenses with the Saudi driving licenses. This would require women to go through a practical test.

Last year, Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman approved the decree allowing women to drive in the Kingdom.
