It’s true that most of us desire to see their date of birth or any other special day on our car number plate but it’s hard to get the number you want. Fortunately, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced a program which allows motorists to personalize their car number plates.
RTA has initiated ‘Your Memorable Moments on Your Vehicle’s Plate’ phase for V-Coded plates. In 2017, the authority initiated a program for S-coded plates for motorists born between 1981 and 1998. This V-coded program will allow motorists to select five-digit car number plates featuring codes that are similar to their date of birth, wedding day, graduation day or any other day of significance to them.
Sultan Al Marzouqi, Director of Vehicles’ Licensing at RTA’s Licensing Agency, said: “The V-Coded number plates will be issued, as available, bearing dates from 1967 to 2018. The total cost of the plate is Dh1,670. Customers can source their number plates directly from Customer Happiness Centers all over Dubai, service providers, strategic partners, RTA website (www.rta.ae) or the smart app ‘Dubai Drive’.
“Launching this phase, of ‘Your Memorable Moments on Your Vehicle’s Plate’ initiative, follows the remarkable response generated by previous Codes. The initiative reflects the core role of the RTA in providing new and premium services to raise customers’ satisfaction and happiness through engaging them in selecting personalized and important numbers for their vehicle plates,” he said.
Those interested in the personalized car number plates should go to the RTA site, log in to their account, search for ‘Special Moments Plate Number’, check the availability, pay the fee and get their desired car number plate.
