Automobili Pininfarina, which was recently acquired by Mahindra & Mahindra, is coming to the front lines once again. The Italian firm, which is situated in Europe, will design and build luxury electric vehicles in the near future. The company is also known to have unveiled a number of concepts over the years. The experience of Mahindra Formula E and Pininfarina’s design will come together to create vehicles that people will remember for a long time.

It is decided that the first ever vehicle to come out of the Pininfarina factories will be a hyper car which will be released by 2020. The company hasn’t leaked any details related to the hyper car but according to reports, Pininfarina will make use of the modular underpinnings co-created by Rimac and Mahindra’s Formula E team. As a result, it is believed the car will have the capability to lock horns with Bugatti’s fastest car, the Chiron. That’s a claim not many car manufacturers can make and certainly not anyone who has just stepped in the hypercar business.

Mahindra plans to sell the car primarily in the U.S market but China, Japan, and Europe are also included in the probable markets. Showing his contentment at the news Paolo Pininfarina, grandson of Automobili Pininfarina founder Battista Farina, remarked, “This project helps me and my family to realize my grandfather’s dream of seeing outstanding innovative cars solely branded Pininfarina on the roads.”

The Italian company recently unveiled the Hybrid Kinetic (HK) GT concept in Geneva and plans to showcase an H500 electrified concept sedan and the K350 SUV in Beijing this week.
