SF-Motors has revealed two new electric vehicles named SF5 and SF7 at a private event held at their Santa Clara headquarters, in Silicon Valley.
For those who don’t know, SF-Motors is an electric car startup backed up by Chongqing Sokon as well as Tesla co-founder Martin Eberhard. The company made an announcement last month that it is acquiring AM General’s commercial vehicle plant situated in South Bend, Indiana. This same plant was previously used for building the Hummer H2.

Talking about the SF5 and SF7, both EVs will feature a skateboard layout which has a flat battery pack on its floor and electric motors installed on the axles. The automaker claims that the flexible motor system will allow the EV to one, two, three or four motor combinations. The most powerful combination will deliver 1,000 horsepower and a range of 300 miles (EPA) or 500 Km (NEDC). Moreover, it will allow the EV to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in under 3.0 seconds.

Most of the technologies in the SF5 and SF7 come from a startup company called InEVit which was founded by Martin Eberhard in 2017. It was later acquired by SF-Motors.
The production of the SF5 will begin in 2019 and the interested customers will be able to pre-order later this year.
