As part of EV incentives, the RTA has earmarked free parking slots for electric cars at different locations. Anyone with gasoline engine car should be aware of that and those who willingly or unwilling occupy the EV parking slots have to pay Dh1,000 fine.
Dubai government is working to raise awareness regarding environmental issues and the quick adoption of EVs in the Emirate. In this regard, they have reserved 220 free parking slots for EVs and allowed these cars to get charged for free until 2019. Apart from these, they have offered free registration, salik, annual renewal fees, and license plate sticker identifying the vehicle as an EV.
