Hyundai has revealed a new crossover SUV dubbed as Hyundai Kona Electric. According to the maker, it offers 292 miles of range on a single charge. The Kona Electric will make its official world debut next week at the Geneva Motor Show but the automaker has disclosed some important information regarding the crossover SUV.
Two versions of the Hyundai Kona Electric will be launched; the short-range and long-range. The short-range model will be equipped with a 39.2kWh battery and a 99kW electric motor. This version renders a 186-mile range and could sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just nine seconds. The recharge time with an AC outlet will be a little over six hours whereas with the DC charger, it could be charged to 80 percent under 54 minutes.
The long-range Kona Electric will carry a 64kWh battery pack, a potent 150kW motor. It will offer a range of 292-miles. It could go from 0 to 60 mph in about seven seconds and would need approximately three hours to recharge on a standard outlet.
Standard features on both the versions include a 7-inch touch display screen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Qi wireless charging, and a heads-up display. Both versions also feature latest safety amenities such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision assist, lane keep assist, and blind spot warning.
More details will be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
