The German automaker has finally confirmed that a Volkswagen Convertible Crossover based on the new VW T-Roc will be making its debut soon. This is not the first time we are hearing news about a convertible crossover, as many other automakers such as Land Rover and Nissan have also displayed similar vehicles in the past.
For curious souls, the initial teaser sketch has been revealed but it doesn’t show the front-fascia of the convertible crossover. However, the T-Cross Breeze concept from 2016 gives us a pretty good idea regarding the design of the Volkswagen convertible crossover.
The automaker has invested over 80 million euros (about $100 million) in order to develop the convertible crossover. It will be built at the firm’s Osnabrück, Germany, factory where currently the Tiguan and Porsche Cayman are produced. Initially, Volkswagen plans to build 20,000 units annually but the number may rise depending on the demand.
The production of the Volkswagen Convertible Crossover will begin in 2020 and we don’t have any information regarding its pricing or availability in the Middle East. However, considering that the regular T-Roc is still not available in the Middle East, it may take some time before the convertible version arrives in the region.
