The wait is over for BMW lovers and enthusiasts. The German automaker has finally offered a discreet look of its brand new BWW 8-Series coupe, hinting at its impending release. The upcoming Geneva Auto Show in March 2018 could be a suitable platform, however, the car is still undergoing speed tests in Aprilia, Italy.

The leaked photos of the coupe were discovered early this January, which did not make all the fans happy. BMW has played safe by adopting softer lines for the 8-Series coupe, which makes the car look more like an extension of the 6-Series design. The latest picture shows the rear of the car which is well-defined and angular. The dual exhaust pipes promote a sporty look and the tail-lights exude a positive assertive stance. It would be safe to say that the BMW 8-Series coupe will not be an ugly car even though it has deviated a bit from its original concept design unveiled last May at the 2017 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.

“Our customers and fans can look forward to a genuine sports car,” BMW official Klaus Fröhlich stated.

The new 8-Series coupe will supersede the BMW 6-Series coupe and is intended to compete with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe and Maserati Gran Turismo. The sale may start sometime in 2019 and is expected to be priced at around $80,000.
