The 2018 BMW X2 has been unveiled officially at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit and is expected to arrive at the showrooms in spring.
Talking about the style, the 2018 BMW X2 appears more to be a hatchback rather than an SUV, owing to its low roofline and shorter overhangs. Although it ranks above the X1 its trunk space is 35 liters less compared to the former.
At launch, the 2018 X2 will be available in only one model i.e. X2 xDrive28i, which carries a 2.0-liter turbocharged in-line four-cylinder engine developing 228 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft of torque. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission allowing the X2 to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.3 seconds. The all-wheel-drive system is available as standard. The official word suggests the X2 will offer 61.4 mpg of fuel economy.
Talking about the interior, the standard equipment will include a 7-speaker audio system and SensaTec seats, whereas, on the outside, 18-inch alloy wheels will further enhance the overall sporty look of the SUV. A convenience package will be available too at an additional cost with extra amenities such as power-folding mirrors, panoramic roof, auto-dimming mirrors, lumbar support and more.
The price will start from $39,395.
