VW expects to produce 6 Million vehicles by year’s end to set a new record that might see the competitor, Toyota plummeting to the second place as the world’s largest automaker.

In a recent announcement, the automaker revealed that it will be manufacturing more than 600,000 vehicles following the launch of new vehicles and success of its old nameplates like Jetta, Golf, and Passat.

The production units include vehicles from VW only excluding the numbers from subsidiaries like Porsche and Audi. End of the year will decide whether Toyota or VW group has the highest amount of sales in 2017 to snag the global title.

Production of 6 Million vehicles by the end of 2017 is a portention of VW’s soaring brand value and market share since the automaker now manufactures more than 60 different vehicle models worldwide.

More than 50 Volkswagen assembly plants are spread across the globe in 14 nations and it has produced almost 150 million cars since its inception 72 years ago with the famous Beetle. The Atlas and T-Roc were amongst more than 10 new vehicles launched at a global level this year by the automaker.

The VW group is planning on developing SUVs, electric cars, and crossovers in future with an investment plan of almost $85 billion.
