All compulsory and comprehensive insurance claimers in Saudi Arabia will be able to enjoy insurance discount if they have not been in any vehicular accidents or incidents in the last year.
To encourage safe driving practices, insurance companies have been directed by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) to grant responsible drivers a discount of up to 15% till June 2018. This is an extension of the previous order to give a 10% to 15% discount between August and December 2017.
The decision is also made in an effort to encourage drivers to insure their vehicles. The discount is now also accessible to those who did not have an insurance policy, or their policy was expired or they had new cars. Those who do not get the insurance discount are encouraged to call on the toll-free number or file complaints at the Consumer Protection Department.
