Earlier we broke the news that Abu Dhabi Police is offering 50% discount on traffic fines for 60 days starting from December 2. Well, the authorities have taken another lenient step and extended the validity of Abu Dhabi traffic fine to 90 days.
The 90 days grace period starts from December 2, while the discount will be applied to offenses between August 1, 2016, and December 1, 2017. Please note, violations committed after December 1, 2017, have to be paid in full
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Friday, ordered the Ministry of Interior to decrease traffic fines across the UAE by 50%.
Major-General Mohammad Khalfan Al Rumaithi, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, said, “The fine reduction is one of Abu Dhabi Government’s plans for the Year of Giving 2017. This drive aims to spread the culture of road safety and encourage motorists to obey traffic rules.”
