Volkswagen took the stage at Dubai International Motor Show to present its two latest vehicles, the Volkswagen Arteon and Volkswagen Teramount, along with an electric car concept dubbed as “BUDD-e”.
Andrew Savvas, Brand Director Volkswagen Middle East, said, “Today’s presentation represents affordable, innovative solutions that move people forward with products that directly fit our community’s needs. When I joined Volkswagen in the Middle East last year, I committed to better serving our community with products, services, and people that are more in-tune with our market; to move people forward. I’m confident that today we are closer to achieving those goals than ever before. The all-new models, the Arteon and the Teramont enhance our multi-award winning model range; our customers can now choose from a Gran Turismo fastback or the perfect SUV, whatever their family size.”
The Volkswagen Teramount is a seven-seater SUV built on the Modular Traverse Matrix (MQB) platform. It is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and safety features such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear-traffic alert, lane-departure alert, parking steering assist, and more. A number of tech features found in the Teramount have been adopted from the award-winning VW Tiguan and Golf models.
The Volkswagen Teramount is available with two engine options; a 2.0-liter with 220 horsepower and a 3.6-liter with 280 horsepower. It is scheduled to arrive in the Middle East at the start of 2018.
On the other hand, the Volkswagen Arteon boasts a spectacular five-door fastback design and offers innovative driver assistance systems. It is expected to carry a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine capable of developing 270 horsepower and 280 lb.-ft of torque.
Volkswagen also displayed the BUDD-e electric car concept, which was equipped with two electric motors showcasing the brand’s future of mobility. The Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR was also present on the stand.
