The SEAT Leon Cupra R, a limited edition hatchback, was first showcased by the automaker at the Frankfurt Motor Show earlier this year. Now, SEAT has revealed that initially only 24 units will arrive in the United Kingdom and each example will cost £34,995.
Under the hood, the SEAT Leon Cupra R carries a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which delivers 306 bhp. In the United Kingdom, the LEON Cupra R will only be available with a 6-speed manual gearbox, while in other markets, it will be offered with a DSG automatic transmission as well. Official words suggest that the Cupra R will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds.
The performance equipment includes re-calibrated adaptive dampers and a limited-slip differential for improved traction. The exhaust system has been enhanced as well.
In terms of design, the enlarged wheel arches, revised front bumper, large air intake, an updated rear-wing, and the unique 19-inch wheels add to the overall sporty persona of the hot hatch. The standard features inside include key-less entry, reverse camera, front bucket seats, and a sat-nav system. Customers can opt for more convenient features at an additional cost.
The deliveries will begin at the start of next year.
