To commemorate the start of the Volvo Ocean Race, the automaker has launched an exclusive 2018 Volvo V90 Cross Country Ocean Race edition, boasting some impressive updates.
It is based on the standard V90 Cross Country with a few upgrades. The most important addition in the 2018 Volvo V90 Cross Country Ocean Race edition is the new floor mats made from recycled fishing nets. The carpet inlays are made from 100 percent recycled nylon while special matte gray and orange detailing can be found on the upholstery. The exterior sports a crystal white paint.
Under the hood, the 2018 Volvo V90 Cross Country Ocean Race edition boasts a 2.0-liter supercharged and turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 316 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft of torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Talking about the station wagon, Volvo’s head of special vehicle and accessories, Dan Olsson, stated that the V90 Cross Country Ocean Race Edition is “a balanced and capable all-road car, at home on normal roads and off the beaten track.”
Moreover, it includes special features such as an integrated detachable torchlight, extra power outlets, and smart dirt- and water-resistant materials. Only 3,000 units will be sold worldwide.
