Reviving the legacy of the original 911 T which was introduced back in 1968, the automaker has just introduced the new and improved 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera T.
Just like its predecessor, the 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera T employs impressive weight-cutting techniques by using light-weight side and rear windows and no door handles. The automaker has also removed the rear seats and the radio resulting in 20 kg less weight than the standard 911. The overall weight of the car is 1,425 kg.
Although interior amenities have been removed Porsche did not compromise on mechanical equipment. The 911 Carrera T boasts a shorter constant transaxle ratio, mechanical rear differential lock, PASM Sport adjustable suspension, sport exhaust system, and rear-wheel steering.
The cabin features exclusive Sport-Tex trim on the seats with 911 embroidered on the headrests. The ‘Porsche Sport GT’ steering wheel has mounted controls for selecting driving modes.
Powering the 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera T is a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six cylinder engine developing 370 horsepower and 339 lb.-ft of torque. A manual transmission is available as standard but customers can also choose a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. The manual transmission allows the 911 Carrera T to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds.
Porsche is taking the orders for the new 2018 911 Carrera T with price starting from $103,150. The deliveries will start in the second quarter of 2018.
