The new Nissan Leaf has been launched at the Nissan Futures Show in Oslo, Norway on 2nd October with a number of new updates and technologies. Initially, only the ‘2.Zero’ limited edition will be available for sale, while the regular model will arrive at the dealerships in the start of 2018. Powering the second-generation Nissan Leaf is a reworked electric motor, which produces 147 bhp, 40 bhp more than the current Leaf, and 199 lb.-ft of torque. This motor will allow the new Leaf to sprint from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in just eight seconds. The 24 kWh and 30 kWh battery pack in the old model has been replaced with a 40 kWh battery, which has a range of up to 235 miles.
The best thing about the new Nissan Leaf is the ProPilot driver assistance which autonomously controls braking, acceleration and steering on a motorway at speeds up to 62 mph (100 km/h). Also present is the Nissan e-Pedal allowing the driver to accelerate and brake with just one pedal. The standard interior amenities include a 7-inch infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support.
The new Nissan leaf 2.Zero model is priced from £26,490 and is on sale in the U.K.
