The new 2018 MG6 has been revealed during a public event in China, while the UK debut is expected to take place sometime next year.

The second-gen 2018 MG6 is based on the Roewe i6 boasting an array of new sporty features. Up front, it includes a spectacular ‘star ride’ grille, which is inspired by the Mercedes-Benz Diamond design. The LED headlamps and sequential indicators further enhance the overall persona of the MG6.

The cabin renders up-scale luxury amenities such as two-tone leather upholstery with electronic adjusting option, large nine-inch touch display with Bluetooth connectivity and voice recognition. The steering wheel has mounted controls to control most of the infotainment functions.

The automaker has not revealed any powertrain details yet, but since the 2018 MG6 is based on the Roewe i6, we can expect it to carry the same 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder unit which develops 164 bhp. A smaller 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine with 123 bhp might also be available.

The Roewe i6 also comes with a hybrid powertrain, but we can’t confirm right now if it will also be available in the MG6.

The 2018 MG6 is reported to debut in the United Kingdom next year at the London Motor Show.
