Delivering on its promise, the electric car automaker supplied first batch of its most affordable car, the Tesla Model 3. Only 30 fortunate customers who ordered Model 3 Long Range variant got the deliveries.
The Model 3 will be available in a number of variants, but for now, only standard and Long Range trim levels are being build.
Starting at $35,000, the standard car has a range of 220 miles. The performance specs include 0 to 60 time of 5.6 seconds and a top speed of 130 mph.
Priced at $44,000, the Long Range Model 3 comes with a 310 miles range. The 0 to 60 time is 5.1, while the top speed is limited to 140 mph.
The standard features include single electric motor powering the rear wheels, a 15-inch touchscreen display, navigation, Internet connectivity, LED headlights, and standard Autopilot electronic driver aids like collision avoidance and automatic emergency braking. Those who want premium features have to spend extra for that. Similarly, those who want full self-driving features, have to pay $3,000 more.
All the base Tesla Model 3 cars will enjoy a 4-year/50,000-mile limited warranty on battery. For others, it can vary like the Long Range has an 8-year/100,000-mile warranty.
Tesla has a busy year ahead, as there are thousands of orders to fulfill. Tesla did not comment when exactly customers in the UAE would receive their Model 3 cars, but we believe it won’t happen this year.
