The German automaker’s most luxurious and flagship model has been launched with an array of new features. Yes! We are talking about the latest fourth-generation, 2018 Audi A8 which was introduced this Tuesday at the Audi Summit in Barcelona.
Starting with the exterior design, the 2018 Audi A8 boasts a profound Singleframe grille along with sharp HD Matrix LED headlights with Audi laser lighting. The muscular body kit clearly speaks about the new A8’s sophistication and elegant persona.
The best features are found inside the new 2018 Audi A8. The automaker states that the A8 is the first production model developed specifically for automated driving. It extends an innovative new technology called “The Audi AI traffic jam pilot”, which enables the A8 to self-drive in slow-moving traffic at up to 60 km/h (37.3 mph) speed. The AI traffic jam pilot system will take care of everything from starting, accelerating, and steering to braking. Audi claims that the driver can even watch TV while the AI traffic jam pilot is working.
Additionally, thanks to the advanced LIDAR system which includes a front-facing camera, radar, and ultrasonic sensors, the new Audi A8 will be capable of self-driving at speeds up to 37 mph. Of course, the parking remote will allow drivers to park the car autonomously in the garage.
Besides the amazing tech features, the 2018 Audi A8 sports a dynamic all-wheel steering and an Audi AI active suspension for an improved performance and drive.
It will be available in a number of engine options including 3.0 TDI, 3.0 TFSI, 4.0 TDI, 4.0 TFSI and the range-topping 6.0L W12 unit. A hybrid variant will join the lineup later as well.
It will be launched in the German markets later this year starting from EUR 90,600. No information available regarding when it will arrive in the UAE.
