When talking about the future of mobility, we usually picture self-driving cars with zero emissions and advanced multimedia technology. But that might be just a start. It seems the robots will also be involved along with the autonomous vehicles. Volkswagen has announced that it is working on a new project which will make our everyday tasks easier. The Volkswagen Robots, which the automaker is developing in collaboration with KUKA AG, will carry out the task of recharging the car battery without any human intervention.

Talking about this technology, the CEO of KUKA AG stated that in the next few decades, robots will assist humans in many duties, and since autonomous vehicles will also be a part of it, KUKA AG and Volkswagen are working together to innovatively reshape the future of automobiles.

The Volkswagen Robots will remove the need for humans to recharge their car batteries. All you would need to do is park your car at the designated spot and the robot will do the rest of the job.

Volkswagen and KUKA AG are not the first ones working on this technology. In 2015, Tesla also released a video showing a similar robot prototype, which locates the charging port and plugs it itself.

The partnership between Volkswagen and KUKA AG will also result in developing technologies for self-driving cars.
