Exclusive supercars are always built in limited numbers and besides being a collector’s item, they turn into an investment, as the buyers sell it later for a higher price. This practice is known as ‘flipping’, and the Aston Martin CEO, Andy Palmer, is taking an action against those who do the same with the automaker’s upcoming Valkyrie hyper car.

Piston Heads, which claims to be the UK’s biggest motoring forum, recently put up an ad for the Aston Martin Valkyrie build slot offering it for a hefty price tag. The news reached Andy Palmer who tweeted that he doubts if the seller has a slot, and if they do, the reservation will be cancelled. Also, the seller will get barred from getting hands on any other Aston Martin’s upcoming exclusive model.

Flipping limited edition cars has become prevalent over the years and some automakers such as Ferrari have also added a new rule which forbids customers from selling their exclusive cars till six months after owning it.

The Aston Martin Valkyrie production will be limited to just 150 units out of which 25 will be track-only models. The official performance specs have not been revealed yet, but reports suggest it will carry a 6.5-liter V-12 engine paired with a hybrid system, which will generate more than 1,000 horsepower.
