It is quite evident now that the third-generation 2018 Porsche Cayenne is arriving soon, as we caught the prototype several times. Although, the exterior is partially disguised, we can still make out how the production model will look like.

Up front, the 2018 Porsche Cayenne is expected to feature a new front grille. Although, the LED daytime running lights are missing, we might see them in the upcoming prototypes. The roof looks sleeker, while at the back, it will feature full-width taillights. It will ride on the same platform as the Audi Q7, the Bentley Bentayga, the Volkswagen Toureg and the Lamborghini Urus.

Besides exterior updates, the automaker will also adopt weight-cutting techniques to reduce the overall weight of the 2018 Porsche Cayenne by 220 pounds (100 kilograms). The powertrain details are not confirmed, but reports indicate it will be equipped with a Porsche’s new 4.0-liter V8, which recently debuted in the new Panamera Turbo. This engine delivers up to 542 horsepower. The less powerful variants might house a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine. Porsche is also expected to add a hybrid powertrain to the lineup.
More details will be revealed as the new Porsche Cayenne makes its debut at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.
