Ford disappointed a lot of fans when they ditched the V8 engine in the latest F-150 Raptor and installed a V-6 unit. However, those fans could look forward to the new 2017 Ford Shelby F-150 Super Snake, featuring an exceptional powertrain that might be just they desire.

Powering the Ford Shelby F-150 Super Snake is a supercharged version of a 5.0L V8, tuned to deliver 750 horsepower. The Ford Raptor generates only 300 horsepower, whereas the regular Shelby F-150 launched in 2015 churns out 700 horsepower.

The Ford Shelby F-150 Super Snake has taken inspiration from the Mustang GT Shelby Super Snake, which was introduced back in 2015 with 750+ horsepower. The F-150 Super Snake was developed with the help from Ford Performance Division and exhaust expert, Borla.

The automaker has not revealed further information, but we know the suspension system has been upgraded for improved handling and some new body panels have been added including hood, bumpers, side skirts, and tonneau cover. Exclusive Shelby Super Snake badges can also be found on the exterior.

Ford will build only 150 units of the 2017 F-150 Super Snake, and the starting price will be $96,880 giving customers a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty. Customers can opt for either two-wheel or four-wheel drive.
