Alien franchise will feature a new star from automotive industry in form of Audi Lunar Quattro, a moon rover built by Audi in collaboration with a new German research firm “Part-Time Scientists”. The Lunar Quattro will command significant screen time in Ridley Scott’s “Alien Covenant”, as it will assist the lead protagonist in assessing the harsh unknown terrain.

Representatives from both 20th Century Fox and Audi are excited about this partnership. Audi’s VP Marketing Communication said that this partnership will open new doors for Audi to showcase its intelligent solutions in a mesmerizing environment. On the other hand, SVP Marketing Partnerships at 20th Century Fox Studios said that they are excited to bring futuristic technologies from their long term partner, Audi, in the limelight. 20th Century Fox Studios even went to the extent of making a short movie clip in collaboration with Audi and 3AM on sets of Alien Covenant showcasing Quattro in indigenous terrain, investigating anonymous life forms.

In its film debut, the Audi lunar quattro is an integral part of the Covenant mission and is deployed to help navigate and assess the challenging, unknown terrain of a remote planet.

Audi Lunar Quattro deserves all the attention, as it is scheduled to actually take on moon in the near future. Team of scientists from Audi and Part-Time Scientists have managed to bring its weight down to just 30 KGs. It features an e-tron motor based on Audi’s all-wheel drive Quattro technology and is mostly made by state of the art 3D metal printer in Audi’s headquarters.
