The Fate of The Furious is the strangest and darkest chapter in Universal’s unstoppable car-racing series. The eighth chapter of the Fast and Furious revolves around a mysterious cyber-criminal, Cipher who confronts Vin Diesel in Cuba, hacks into his brain, convinces him to betray his family and closed ones whom he has always fought hard to protect and lures him into the dangerous world of terrorism. With Diesel gone, the family faces trials that test them in a whole new way. Cipher has been portrayed as a heartless and cold villain who proves to be more than a challenge. The film features Vin Diesel’s crew pairing up with Deckard and Hobbs. From the shores of Cuba to Russian iceberg, the film relives its legacy of high performance vehicle racing and powerful action stunts to stop Cipher from unleashing chaos on the world and bring home the man who united them as a family.
The Fate of The Furious has earned mixed reviews. Director F Gary Gray may have done many fine projects, but his craftsmanship does not capture the full essence of this series. The two focal points of the movie – Speed and Distance are not properly expressed. Graphics and special effects are not up to the mark. The plot is not that strong and the personality of the main characters has also been changed a little, which is bit weird.
Though not quite as splendid as its prequels, the film still keeps the viewers glued to the screen with its heat-seeking missiles and submarines. It is fun to watch with its explanatory dialogues and fast cars. It’s certainly better than its trailer and given that it’s the eighth chapter of a series, it lives up to its name. it is impossible not to like The Fate of the Furious.
