To promote good driving habits in Dubai and Sharjah, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Sharjah Police decided to start a road safety awareness campaign named Mobil 1 GoldStar, which would reward Dh1,000 to 10 traffic rules followers for three days.
This safety campaign invites all road users like drivers, pedestrians and cyclists to be a part of the contest and rewards them for complying to road safety rules.
There will be 10 lucky winners chosen for three consecutive days. They will be revealed on April 3 and 4 in Dubai, and April 5 in Sharjah. They motorists will be analyzed on the use of child safety seats and pedestrian crossings, turning indicators, respecting lane discipline, wearing seatbelts, being polite and using hands free mobile.
Contest winners will be picked by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Sharjah Police and would be given Dh1000 reward alongwith a certificate. Recently, a 42-year-old woman working as a driver for an Emirati family in Dubai won Dh1,000 reward.
