We all know the Tesla Model S carries robust dual electric motors and packs some advanced technological features, but what’s even more interesting is the fact that this $135,000 all-electric car is faster than most of the super cars including the $1.5 million Ferrari LaFerrari, the $1.1 McLaren P1 and the $845,000 Porsche 918 Spyder. You might be saying, why we are repeating this, but believe me, it officially has become the fastest production car in the world.

The company’s CEO Elon Musk tweeted some time back that the Model S can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds and with a downloadable software update called “Ludicrous +,” it could hit the same speed in just 2.4 seconds. The popular American magazine, ‘Motor Trend’ decided to test the latest Tesla Model S P100D sedan with the “Ludicrous +” software update and surprisingly managed to reach the 60 mph in just 2.28 seconds. Can you believe that, it’s even fastest than the Nissan GT-R in terms of acceleration?

Comparing the Tesla Model S with the other luxury super-fast hybrid sports cars such as LaFerrari and McLaren P1, the Model S can seat up to five persons, has a large trunk and weighs nearly 5,000 lbs. Motor Trend concluded that the Tesla Model S is the first car ever to achieve 60 mpg in 2.3 seconds and is no doubt the fastest production car in the world. Watch the official video over here.
