The newly launched automotive brand, Lynk & Co owned by the China-based Zhejiang Geely Holding Group revealed their first vehicle called the ‘01’ SUV last year. And now the automaker seems to be testing the prototype for its second model, which will be dubbed as the 2018 Lynk & Co 02.

The 2018 Lynk & Co 02 is a compact sedan, which was recently caught testing somewhere in China. Although it was heavily disguised, but we can still notice the resemblance of front fascia with the 01 SUV. Moreover, the 02 is using the CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) platform, which is also used in the Volvo S40 sedan, so we expect both the vehicles to share some common components.

The Lynk & Co 02 vehicles are being built in China, but will be sold around the world. The company aims to sell around 500,000 units annually within the next five years. The automaker is also working toward developing its technological facilities as well as cloud services. The upcoming models might feature a V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) communication system, which will allow drivers to share certain data such as parking spots and traffic conditions with other drivers.

The 2018 Lynk & Co 02 is expected to launch in China later this year.
