The British automaker is planning to introduce the McLaren F1 successor, codenamed “BP23”, where BP2 stands for second bespoke project and 3 means it’ll feature 3 seats. McLaren has released the teaser images of the ‘Hyper-GT’ car. They believe it will be the most aerodynamic model developed by the company’s special operations division and will be faster than the McLaren P1.

The Hyper-GT sports car will feature a three-seat, central driving layout. We know it will be powered by a 4.0L V8 hybrid system, but we cannot identify the performance details yet. Talking about the design, the sketch shows the BP23 boasts large wheels and sharp character lines all over the body.

McLaren will build only 106 units of the BP23 hybrid sports car to match the same number of McLaren F1, which were created between 1992 and 1998. Each model will cost around £1.9 million (approximately $2.3 million), and according to the officials, more than 300 customers have already applied to purchase the car. The customers will have the choice to fully customize the car according to their preference making changes in the color, trims and even materials. The deliveries will begin in 2019.

More details will be released by the automaker in the coming months.
