The all-new 2018 Ford Fiesta ST hatchback has been unveiled by the automaker and it is set to make its debut next month at the 2017 Geneva Auto Show.

The 2018 Ford Fiesta ST hatch will carry a new 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine replacing the EcoBoost turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder found in the current Fiesta ST. The new powertrain features aluminum components and weighs comparatively lesser than the 1.6L unit. The engine will be paired with a six-speed manual transmission system to produce up to 197 horsepower and 214 lb-ft of torque.

The automaker claims that the 2018 Fiesta ST could go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds with a top speed of 225 km/h (140 mph). Moreover, the engine boasts port and direct fuel injection, intake and exhaust valve timing, and cylinder deactivation technology for improved performance and better fuel efficiency.

The Ford Fiesta 2018 will also offer a drive mode selector, allowing switching between different drive modes such as Normal, Sport, and Track. The ‘Normal’ mode is for every-day driving situation while the ‘Track’ mode disables traction control and enhances the performance.
