High speed water taxis will now offer conveyance to and from Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island from 1st February, it was recently announced. The announcement was made at Yas Island, after Aldar Properties reached an agreement with Jalboot Marine Network.

Mohammad Khalifa Al Mubarak, CEO of Aldar Properties said, “We are pleased to be able to sign this agreement with Jalboot. This new water taxi service will add significant value to the existing communities on Al Raha Beach and the main city of Abu Dhabi, future residents of Yas Island, and tourists alike.”

This service adds to the existing modes of transport available to visitors, which already comprise of the Yas Express shuttle express and ADCB’s Bikeshare network.

The water taxi can carry up to 10 passengers at a time. After departure from Raha Beach, the taxi will link up with Al Muneera, Al Bandar and Al Zeina before reaching Yas Marina.

Jalboot’s existing ferry services, which operate around Abu Dhabi will also be linked up.

The water taxis will run ‘on-demand’ basis from 1st February till 13th February, after which a formal schedule, drafted using feedback from individuals, will be announced on Jalboot’s Facebook page.

No prior booking is required, and the price schedule is as follows: Dh15 for one ride, Dh25 for two rides and Dh40 for an all-day pass.
