Two years back, the BMW M3 received its first facelift and now the automaker has again revised it a little by adding new headlamps. The changes are very subtle, but a trained eye can see the BMW M3 front fascia has been enhanced to match the look of recently introduced BMW M4.
The LED bars in the headlamps have been stretched to look as if they are joining the front kidney grille. No powertrain updates have been reported; the M3 still carries the turbocharged, 3.0-liter straight-six-cylinder engine which delivers 425 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. The engine can be mated to either a six-speed manual transmission system or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic system.
Customers can also opt for the optional Competition Package, which offers a slightly higher power output of 450 horsepower allowing the sedan to sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 4 seconds. The package also adds other upgrades including an adaptive suspension system, improved direct steering ratio and some enhancements both on the inside as well as outside.
According to the BMW Blog, the new BMW M3 will arrive later this year in the US showrooms as a 2018 model.
