The CEO of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HTT), Dirk Ahlborn elaborated the concept of Hyperloop system at a conference in Dubai. This system consists of a vacuum tube that transits a pod at the speed of 760 mph, covering long range distances in a short time. He expects this system to be launched in UAE by 2020. Recent updates reveal that HTT has been working with Abu Dhabi government to cut short the time to cover 105 miles between Abu Dhabi and Al-Ain.

The idea of super fast Hyperloop capsules was proposed by Elon Musk in his 2013 publication of ‘Hyperloop Alpha’. HTT and Hyperloop One are the two set-ups that are working to achieve his proposition. The short haul Hyperloop systems will be convenient and cheaper as compared to trains, boats, cars and even planes for distances over 900 miles. They are said to be tremor resistant and energy efficient.

By 2020, self driving cars may be competing with the Hyperloop systems to secure the place of cheaper and better transport, while other modes of transport may be suffering. Investing in hyperloop networks is a cost effective option than laying down railway tracks that also consume land.
