As announced on Tuesday, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Dubai Police has finalized a security arrangement for the celebration on New Year’s Eve. 750 police patrols are established all across the city to oversee the celebration of 31st December and ensure public safety.
The patrolling teams will include 470 patrol cars and women taskforce from CID. The traffic police will be positioned in upmarket places patrolling in Lamborghini and Ferrari cars. Dubai Police Tourism Department is also assigned to the tourist camps at multiple locations to keep a check on the situations. The remaining 280 Dubai Police patrols will be performing their duties in different areas. The security teams will be supervising the crowded areas especially where the New Year’s Eve festivities and activities will be carried out.
Along with Dubai’s Events Security Committee (ESC), Dubai Police creates awareness among public asking them to call 901 in case of any ambiguity and 999 in case of emergency. It is also advised to download the Official Dubai Police App to get further information on the subject or to report a mishap.
The Head of the Event Security Committee and Deputy Director of Department of Protective Security and Emergency at Dubai Police, Brigadier Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri presided a meeting recently and said that the final plan for New Year’s Eve provides security as well as guide people about routes they can take. Other services such as medical help will also be available for any unfortunate event.
