The luxury Italian automaker has developed and introduced the new Lamborghini Aventador S on 19th December, 2016. It has a sporty exterior and an enhanced powertrain, thus offer better performance.

Lamborghini has previously used the ‘S’ naming bade with other models too, such as, the Miura S and Countach S. It denotes an upgraded model. The Lamborghini Aventador S carries a 6.5-liter V-12 engine with cylinder deactivation technology. The V-12 offers 730 horsepower and 509 lb.-ft of torque and the maximum revs have been increased from 8,350 (the standard Aventador model) to 8,500 rpm. Moreover, it is equipped with the Aventador’s Independent Shifting Rod (ISR) transmission system, which is also borrowed from the standard model.

Talking about the performance statistics, the Lamborghini Aventador S is capable of going from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.9 seconds and can attain a top speed of 217 mph. The overall weight of the car is 3,472 pounds.

Other enhancements include improved aerodynamics, a four wheel steering system and magnetic dampers adopted from the Aventador SuperVeloce. On the inside, it features a new infotainment system, which includes internet connectivity and Apple CarPlay integration.

The Aventador S is scheduled to make its debut next year at the 2017 Geneva Auto Show.
