The all new, fifth generation 2018 Lexus LS was planned to make its official debut at Detroit Auto Show in January next year, but the automaker posted a teaser image on December 8 to make the wait more exciting.

The teased image shows the underlying chassis and front of the car revealing Lexus will build it on its Global Architecture-Luxury (GA-L) rear-drive platform, which debuted in the new Lexus LC 500. The suspension is also visible in the teaser presenting the double-wishbone front setup with air suspension at all four corners.

Overall, the LS will get an all-new, bolder look. Lexus also promises a more dynamic road experience and a more spacious cabin for its new model.

The current generation of the Lexus LS is about 10 years old and lacks some latest technologies. The new generation assures to fill the gaps. It is likely to feature the same powerhouse as pumping in the LC 500 i.e. a 5.0-liter V8 with 471 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque.

According to the company, the new Lexus LS will introduce a new “visionary technology” that will “provide drivers with the luxury experience they expect from a global flagship sedan.”

The new LS will arrive at the dealerships in the second half of 2017.
