The existing Camry was introduced in 2012 and a refreshed version was released last year. However, that was not warming the hearts of fans, thus the automaker has to come up with something amazing. It is now confirmed that Toyota is going to launch an all-new 2018 Toyota Camry next month at the Detroit Auto Show.

Prior to its launch, the automaker released a teaser image of the new Camry’s rear fender, which shows some styling cues are borrowed from the Toyota Prius. Besides that, we do know that the 2018 Camry will ride on the Toyota’s TNGA global architecture, which also underpins the new Prius. The structure is expected to feature a lot of aluminum elements for lighter curb weight and improved aerodynamics.

Regarding the powertrain, the 2018 Toyota Camry will most likely house a newly developed 1.5L turbo-engine in the base model, while for the upper trim levels, the 3.5L V6 might get replaced by a 2.0L turbo-charged unit.

The 2018 Camry will be unveiled in January, 2017 in Detroit, where the automaker will also announce its plans for the luxury Lexus brand. It will go on sale later in the same year.
