The Buick Velite PHEV concept is scheduled to debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show. However, the automaker has released the first teaser image prior to its launch, which gives us a pretty good idea about its front fascia.

The Buick Velite PHEV concept is developed by Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC). It will carry an impressive high-performance hybrid powertrain along with innovative technologies, which will ensure high efficiency in different driving conditions.

General Motors has not revealed much regarding the Buick Velite PHEV concept, but it did state that the concept will feature a gasoline direct-injection engine along with the company’s new modular intelligent electric drive system and a modular lithium-ion battery pack. The automaker also mentioned that the Velite PHEV concept will act as a ‘template’ for future models, which GM will launch under its Buick Blue new energy vehicle strategy.

Automotive experts at Autoweek believe that Velite is a variant of the Chevrolet Volt. But if we look at the press release published by GM China, it doesn’t mention anything regarding that.

The concept will be officially shown to the public on November 18th, as the Guangzhou Auto Show kicks off.
