The recent JD Power 2016 U.S. Tech Experience Index has been released and it shows that BMW and Hyundai are the two big winners. The BMW 2-Series received an award in small premium car category, while the BMW 4-Series received an award for compact premium segment. The Hyundai Genesis and Tucson received awards in mid-size premium and small segment respectively.

The JD Power 2016 U.S. Tech Experience Index measures the customer satisfaction with regards to the vehicle’s technology depending on the respective car segment. The TXI study takes into account, the driver’s experience and focuses on car’s technological features including collision protection system, comfort and convenience, driving assistance, entertainment features, connectivity, smartphone integration and navigation capabilities. Moreover, it divides the vehicles in seven segments based roughly on their size. This is the reason, the Mercedes GLE Class and the Hyundai Genesis fall under the same category of mid-size premium.

In the compact segment, KIA Forte ranks as the highest, while the Chevrolet Camaro takes the lead in mid-size cars. Nissan Maxima received the highest rating in large car segment, while the Chevrolet Silverado light duty and GMC Sierra light duty followed up second and third respectively.
